We bolted on the turbo struts, shocks, and brakes. It has the coilovers in the rear. Now, we have to get some 16″ wheels to clear the big brake calipers! We’re trying to find some basket weave racing wheels to make it look “period correct.”

Please follow along as we convert a white 1987 924S into a beautiful 924 Carrera GT. We have the body kit in white gel coat. The chassis has already been pretty well stripped. We have the lexan covered fixed headlights, the european front bumper lights. Why start with a 924S? Because we needed the narrow body for the correct look, but wanted the more modern suspension and engine mounting points. What engine will be mounted? a 2.5 NA? 2.7 NA, a 2.5 951? How about my choice? A FAT, THUMPER OF A 3.2 NA!! Been there…..it was great! No lag. Just pure 944 performance.

Pretty cool. Now, the guys are talking about a big BBQ? Make sure your PORSCHE is in the next big group photo!

Our heel toe hero, Tim Comeau, shows us how to heel & toe. For those of us who don’t know, heel & toe (or heel/toe) is a technique used to rev the engine up while braking and downshifting, all at the same time. It takes some practice but allows the driver to rev-match the engine to the downshift, thus putting the tranny in the right gear to accelerate out of the turn without unsettling car.

Watch Tim’s feet in the video below as he pretends he’s flying around a make believe race course just to test the camera’s filming position. Yes, he is calling out the gear changes in German (German car, German words…get it?). He even throws in some left foot breaking for good measure.
